SIM Card & Antennas
NOTE
Our device uses a standard SIM card slot that requires a push mechanism. It operates at a voltage of 3.3V for TTL and is powered by USB 5V. Please ensure to carefully observe the correct orientation when inserting the SIM card.
If you want to install your own 4G LTE Module (Mini PCIe), it is highly advisable to connect ANT1 to the main IPEX connector on the module and ANT2 to the auxiliary IPEX connector. This configuration will allow the two antennas to cross inside the dongle, helping to minimize interference.
🧙TIPS: Feel free to click and download the necessary structure if needed.
Installation Guide
Loosen the screws
NOTE: just loosen the four screws on the right hand side.
Install the module and antenna
Insert the Mini PCIe LTE module into the designated slot on industrial adapter P2U52V08TC;
Connect ANT1 to the Main IPEX connector on the LTE module;
Connect ANT2 to the Aux IPEX connector.
NOTE:
Understanding the IPEX Connectors:
Main IPEX Connector (ANT1): Generally provides primary signal reception and transmission.
Auxiliary IPEX Connector (ANT2): Often used for diversity reception or as a secondary antenna to improve signal quality.
Why Cross Antennas?
Reducing Interference: By crossing the two antennas, you help minimize interference caused by multipath propagation, where the same signal arrives at the receiver from different paths, potentially canceling each other out.
Improving Signal Quality: This configuration leverages diversity combining techniques, which can effectively enhance the overall signal quality and reliability of the LTE connection.
Insert the SIM card
Press the self-ejecting button to release the SIM card holder, and then insert the SIM card in the correct orientation:
Connect the external antenna
NOTE:
If possible, position the antennas away from each other to minimize interference.
If your device's design permits, mount the antennas at approximately 90 degrees to each other to enhance reception capabilities.
Install the module driver
NOTE: Download and install the appropriate drivers for the Mini PCIe LTE module on your PC. If you’re using Quectel modules, you can download them from the following article: Download Drivers.
Connect to the PC
Connect the dongle to your PC using the included Type-C to USB 2.0 cable and check if you can connect to the 4G Internet:
NOTE: If you’re unable to connect to your local 4G Internet, please double-check the following issues:
Have you installed the correct drivers for the 4G module?
Is your SIM card enabled?
If it’s not working, please use the appropriate tools to configure the APN settings accordingly.
