FAQs: WiFi of Codec

Why is it failed to connect to WiFi?

To troubleshoot the issue, you can try following steps:
  1. Ensure that the SSID (WiFi network name) consists of a combination of alphabets in English and numbers only.
  2. Double-check if the password entered for the WiFi network is correct.
  3. Power off the codec and unplug the ethernet cable to allow the device to connect to the WiFi network.
Following these steps can help in troubleshooting the WiFi connectivity issue. If the problem persists, additional troubleshooting steps may be necessary.
Notes
NOTES: This WiFi HDMI codec is specifically designed for wireless connections to your local SSID. It does not function as an access point to broadcast an SSID for other devices to connect to.

Which codec models support wireless connectivity at 5.8GHz?

Currently, the compatibility of our codecs with specific wireless frequencies depends on the series and model. The TV30 ITE Codec Series, such as ON-MIX-30BW and ON-MIX-30DW, along with the SS50 | SS52 MS7 Codec Series, including models like ON-DMI-50BW, ON-DMI-50DWON-MIX-52BW and ON-MIX-52DW, support the higher frequency 5.8GHz networks. This makes them ideal for scenarios where faster speeds and less interference are required, typically found in 5.8GHz setups.

Choosing the right hdmi codec depends on your network infrastructure and specific requirements for performance and connectivity.

What should I do when switching from a wired network to a wireless Wi-Fi network on my HDMI codec?

When changing from a wired network to a wireless Wi-Fi connection, you must ensure the following steps for the device to function properly:
  1. Disconnect the wired connection: Make sure that the Ethernet cable is unplugged.
  2. Power Cycle the Device: After disconnecting the wired network, restart the device by turning it off and on again. This ensures the device resets and correctly connects to the Wi-Fi network.
  3. Wi-Fi Connection Setup: Once the device restarts, go to the network settings to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Without these steps, the device may fail to push the stream to your streaming platform.
