To make it easier for users to quickly assess 4G modem applications, EXVIST has introduced the 4G Modem Evaluation Kit. Unlike typical 4G modems using a Mini PCI-E interface with a USB communication interface, this adapter includes essential power supply circuitry and a SIM card slot. In its design, we prioritized practicality and user convenience for evaluation purposes. When creating your own application motherboards, this adapter serves as a "plug-and-play" component, directly connecting to the motherboard via USB for power and utilizing fixed holes for secure installation.

With a USB 2.0 connector, this adapter offers enhanced convenience for installation within industrial machines, advertising displays, vending machines, camera modules, and more. It is compatible with leading 4G LTE wireless modem brands such as HUAWEI, ZTE, YUGA, QUECTEL, MEIG, DTMOBILE, and SIMCOM. We have extensively tested this adapter with common modems, ensuring seamless compatibility with virtual serial port drivers for proper dialing, sending, and receiving text messages.

Hardware Interfaces

USB Signal Interface

The J10 interface serves as the USB power and signal interface for the Mini PCI-E to USB bus signal connection.
Notes
NOTEJ10 features a USB connector that can be customized to USB-A or 4PIN PH2.0 based on customer requests. Typically, connecting this J10 connector enables data communication as well as sending and receiving messages.

SIM Card Slot & Direction

J11 is a push-push SIM socket designed to accommodate standard large cards. Please ensure the correct orientation of the SIM card when inserting it.

LED Real-Time Display

The LED_WWAN# signal is directly derived from the 4G module. On the industrial Mini PCIe to USB 2.0 adapter, there is a single LED indicator, designated as LED1, which is specifically designed to display the operational status of the modems. For a more detailed explanation of the LED indicator's functionality, please consult the data manual of the 4G module.
