SS50 MS7 Codec Series

What is the decoding capacity of this codec in terms of channels?

This codec can decode a maximum of four channels, which can be configured as 2x USB camera and 2x network streams, or 1x USB camera and 3x network streams, or simply 4 network streams. The supported protocols for decoding include SQ, RTSP, RTMP, and TS.
NOTES: If two USB cameras are already connected but both checkboxes are NOT selected, there will be four channels remainning for decoding additional network streams.

What is the maximum resolution supported by this codec when decoding?

The highest resolution supported by this codec when decoding is 3840x2160p (4K). However, it is important to note that this resolution may limit the usability of other channels, as the remaining three channels may not be utilized, and HDMI input may not be acceptable in this case. Therefore, it is essential to consider the codec's limitations in handling multiple channels at high resolution. And there is only one main stream available for usage if you'd like to pull RTSP stream from this decoding channel.

Which USB cameras are compatible with this codec?

Our testing has included USB cameras from Hikvision, Logistech, and various other brands. If you encounter any issues with adding a USB camera, please inform us so that we can assist in resolving the problem. The codec is only compatible with USB2.0 cameras, not USB3.0.
NOTES: Only available for USB2.0 cameras.

How many USB cameras can be used with this codec simultaneously?

Normally, it is possible to connect two USB cameras at the same time. However, when both USB ports are occupied by cameras, it is not feasible to insert a USB flash drive for video recording.

Why is it failing to pull RTSP stream from USB cameras?

Typically, you need to ensure that the checkbox for USB cameras is selected, as failure to do so will result in the inability to pull RTSP stream from the USB camera.

What decoding protocols are supported by this codec?

The supported protocols for decoding include SQ, RTSP, RTMP, TS and MP4. The SQ protocol is a privately developed communication protocol by EXVIST, exclusively designed for use with EXVIST's encoder, decoder, IP camera, and other products. It is not open for use with devices from other manufacturers. If you encounter difficulties adding other devices using the SQ protocol, it is advisable to consider using alternative common protocols as a solution.

Which IP cameras are compatible with this codec?

We have conducted extensive testing with Hikvision's IP cameras, Dahua's IP cameras, EXVIST's IP cameras, and AXIS's IP Cameras. Typically, using the RTSP protocol poses no issues when adding these IP cameras to our codec. However, for other brands, If decoding the RTSP stream of IP cameras from other brands has been unsuccessful, it could necessitate integration efforts. Integration involves developing custom software to interface with the IP cameras from different brands. Collaboration with the camera manufacturer to understand their protocols and developing a solution that can effectively integrate with their products may also be required.

How do we incorporate an RTSP stream into your codec?

To add an RTSP stream into our codec, please follow these steps:
  1. Open the codec in Chrome
  2. Go to Setting->System->Channel
  3. Navigate to Decode Channel
  4. Choose a channel and click "Modify"
  5. Select RTSP protocol for decoding
  6. Enter the URL of the RTSP stream, which is determined by your devices, not the codec
  7. Enter username and password, the credentials should match the login information for the camera's system.
  8. Click "Save" and then click "Setting" in the top right corner to verify if it is decoding successfully.
NOTES: If you are unsure of the exact URL of the RTSP stream, we recommend first checking how to pull the RTSP stream from your device using the VLC media player, or consulting with the manufacturer for assistance, as the URL may vary depending on the manufacturer.

TV30 ITE Codec Series

What is the decoding capacity of this codec in terms of channels?

This codec can decode a maximum of three channels, which can be configured as 3x network streams. The supported protocols for decoding include SQ, RTSP, RTMP, and TS.
NOTES: If all decoding channels are added, CH1(HDMI) should be disabled. In order to successfully save all channels, it will be necessary to uncheck the checkbox of CH1 (HDMI). This will ensure that all channels are saved without any issues.
